A Superior Guest Experience from Arrival to Departure

 

John Wayne Airport's 2017 Interactive Annual Report communicates the many ways John Wayne Airport provides a "Superior Guest Experience from Arrival to Departure."

The fully responsive website features an interactive video that utilizes novel technology with popup elements, enabling people to pace through the site as they like and mimicking the experience of arriving and departing from John Wayne Airport.

The narrative begins as readers arrive at the airport and are greeted by a valet, are welcomed by attendants inside the terminal entrance, go through security, enjoy JWA’s many amenities, and ultimately end at the departure gate for final boarding and take off. Alongside these animations, automatic popups appeared with highlights of the past year.

We also designed a downloadable PDF version of the site, as well as a postcard, eblast, and social media graphics to help promote the launch of the report.

 
 

Analytics show that user engagement with the annual report has been exceptional—far exceeding traditional benchmarks. 61% of readers interacted with the report, generating 15x interactions per active view, and the average length of time spent on overlays was 36 seconds, which is very good. The team also designed a PDF version of the website for those who can’t access the video. Although the PDF was not interactive, it captured the creativity and overall feel of the site.
